(01). PROJECT
Mobile app mockup project named GreenThumb, an indoor plant identification and tracking app. The app aims to provide a seamless experience for plant enthusiasts, especially beginners, by offering intuitive tools to identify and monitor their indoor plants. GreenThumb is positioned as a fresh, easy-to-use app that caters to a young, eco-conscious audience looking to develop their plant care skills.
Inspired by the latest in plant care tech, the design focuses on simplicity and clarity, featuring a clean interface and prominent, user-friendly icons. The goal was to create a refreshing look that supports quick navigation and accessibility, ensuring users can easily manage and track the health of their plants in one glance.
(02) PROCESS
First, I conducted research on similar plant care and identification apps to understand their approaches to accessibility, functionality, and visual design. I analyzed both beginner-friendly apps and those targeting more advanced plant enthusiasts to identify design elements that could appeal to a broad audience.
I didn’t limit my study to minimalist designs but also explored apps with detailed tracking features, aiming to elevate GreenThumb’s visual identity while ensuring it remained intuitive and approachable for all users. This process helped me define a balance between aesthetics and functionality, creating a clean, engaging interface that supports efficient plant care tracking.
Community: A feed-based screen where users scroll through community posts with options to like,comment, and save. Includes a discussion threads, a search bar and a post editor bar.
Profile/settings: Shows user info (profile picture, name, mail address). Includes Favoris, Comment prendre une photo, Paramètres, Aide. Log out option is at the bottom.
(03) GRAPHIC IDENTITY
I chose a soft green as the primary color, with a grey as an accent for the background, making them easy to locate. Green symbolizes growth, tranquility, and harmony, which aligns perfectly with the app's plant care focus.
For the logo, I selected a text-based design to complement the app’s modern, fresh aesthetic and nature-inspired theme. My main focus was on clarity and simplicity, ensuring the logo fit seamlessly with GreenThumb's inviting and eco-friendly vibe.
